Our Program Director is currently here in Decatur for series of meetings and different engagements. She's also staying in our hotel, so we spent Sunday Dinner with her. She was very generous to treat us all in Ruby Tuesday.

Aloha Restaurant and Lounge

When it's weekend, we always want to rest and at the same time try something different or something new.

This Saturday evening we drove around the area of Forsyth and Decatur to check out restaurants that we haven't been to until we ended up in Aloha. Mr. and Mrs. Capati (the first Filipino couple who invited us for lunch after a Sunday mass) were the ones who introduced us to Aloha and their very good chicken wings. It was a little creepy from the outside because the establishment was so close with no windows at all.. I figured there's sort of ladies dancing inside in two-piece while the lights are flickering.. you know what I mean.

When we opened the door, exotic Hawaiian masks and ornaments greeted us.. they are a wholesome restaurant after all.

We watched Indiana Pacers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers live at Pacers homecourt at Conseco Fieldhouse today.

It was a good Friday. Plus we got free Pacers shirts courtesy of our Program Director. Yipee!!

Steak Tuesday

The team went for a dinner tonight at Applebees because we were joined by two of our peers fresh from Manila. They arrived Monday night.

We thought they might need a good meal and chat.

here's a run down of my order:

Strawberry Fruit Fizzer

lemon limed soda mixed with strawberry

Bourbon Street Steak, medium cooked

a juicy, tender steak jazzed up with cajun spices and served with sauteed onions and mushrooms

Triple Chocolate Meltdown

a magnificently moist chocolate cake topped with both dark and white chocolate. It's core is filled with fudge. Served with vanilla ice cream on the side and hot fudge

I always remember Marvin with my steak experiences. :)

Latest Craze

When I said I purchased an itouch, I didn't mean I was alone.

From this line.. 5 out of 6 bought an itouch.. you probably can't see the very first lady seated at the forefront but she has one too. During break, we don't get up from our seats.. we play all we can!! :D

.. gotta love it while it's hot! :)

Apple Toy

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Since I settled my cards a few months back, I have been able to savor my hard earned money.. waaaaaaaaay better than before.

Today, I got myself the most coveted music toy in the history of gadgets.

Ok fine, i'm overreacting.. I just got myself an itouch.. not even the biggest size, but hey, i still have one, not tooo late LOL. I thought I don't need too much space. How many music and videos can i watch in a given day anyway..

WWE Raw Live

We watched raw today at the Assembly Hall of University of Illinois.

It was a different kind of experience. I was laughing every now and then when the wrestling was on going. It was funny more than anything. But the punches were real, they were all pro at what they were doing.

Filipino Dinner.. na naman

Last Sunday, when we're about to leave St. Lourdes church; we saw the Capati couples again; the one who generously invited us to their house for lunch. And so we stopped by to say our hi's and hello's. During the warm conversation, they introduced us to another Filipino couple - another doctor couple to be exact. Again, before we knew it, we have already been invited for lunch. Such generous and hospitable Filipinos.

And today is the day that we crashed into their home. :)

When in Rome

I was watching Project Runway, Season 7 - Episode 2 when the show aired this new movie in between their commercial gaps. It stars my favorite series actress. :)

When in Rome is the latest movie of Kristen Bell, who starred my old favorite series Veronica Mars, the voice over of Gossip Girl, and who also appeared in Heroes. She is co-starred by the Josh Duhamel.

... so cute! kristen can totally be hilarious!

Avatar in amazing 3D

geeeeeeeeez, i'm so late with the technology.. what's happening with the movie tech??

Ok. So I've just seen Avatar today in freaking 3D.. it was fantabulous, spectacular and super amazing. I was totally captivated to the nth power.

I don't know how to say it.. I can't even describe my satisfaction.

The wonderful story, the characters, the technology were beyond marvelous... James Cameron is phenomenal in this creation, the creativity was just outstanding. The plot maybe familiar - fighting for your race or family or for the one you love; still it was shown in a different context and material.

So here's how the day started:

Monday Food Madness

Here I am.. blogging about food again.

We are celebrating our first day of our second week here in Decatur.. still far away from home. The site director promised us pizza.. so here we are devouring the food offerings.. hehe

Actually, our team brought packed lunch today because we forgot about the promised lunch. But of course nothing is wasted.. we get to share everything we have with the entire class. :)

.. Also, Domino's is one of the few pizzerias I love - I'm not a fan.

Saturday is Shopping Day

It's probably too early to shop since I'll be here in the US till February but whenever I see a cheap dollar sign - there's no going back.

I got great steals today: Jansport bag for $5, Naturalizer square-toed mary janes for $5, Old Navy Shirts as low as $4, a Nike Livestrong that I've been dying to have for $15... the list just goes on and on. Not to mention a coach shoes I got :wink: for such a steal price!

Our night ended with a dinner in a CLASSIC DINER named Denny's.. lovely!!
